Making Art

The Wilmington Arts Council is pleased to announce a new art class, which started on October 4, 2011. This is a multi-media excursion into the art world.  Fran is a well- known local artist and an award winning member of the Reading Art Association and the North Shore Arts Association. Fran has also won prizes at our own Wilmington Art Show.

"Making Art" is for both novice and experienced art makers.  The basic tools for art: color, value, compostition and drawing will be emphasized.  Creativity and imagination willl be encouraged.

Explore the medium of your choce (except Oils, which is taught in another class on Fridays), including watercolor, pastel, colored pencil, acrylic and gouache. Drawing materials such as charcoal, conte crayon and graphite pencil may also be used.

Enjoy pursuing your talents in the company of others with the same interests.  Not sure of what "tools"you want to use?  Experiment with all of them and observe what others are doing.

This class is about the "art making journey" and sharing of ideas.  No  need to feel compelled to produce "masterpieces".  That will come with experience!

Tuesdays - 9:30AM-12N

NOTE:  The Wilmington Arts Center is available for private rentals for concerts and art shows.  Rental Fee: $75. per day.
